With support from the Missouri Foundation for Health, the Missouri AHEC system was able to start 10 Middle School HOSA clubs around the state of Missouri. These clubs participate in various health career and science enrichment activities as a part of a before or after-school program.
In the Northeast Missouri region, the middle schools, Brookfield & Moberly founded individual HOSA Clubs through this effort.
During the year, participants of both clubs were able to….
- visit and receive interactive tours at nearby hospitals and medical/veterinary schools,
- learn how to take a patient’s vital signs,
- learn and become certified in CPR,
- explore various health careers that are interesting to them, and MORE!
