(Medical Explorations in Science & Anatomy)

ATSU’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine & Missouri Area Health Education Centers
present a learning opportunity for high school students interested in health careers!

Take a look at this video to see what you can expect!

We had another great year of M.E.S.A. dissections! Thanks to all of the students that attended and to everyone that helped with the planning process.

The topics for our fall dissections included “Journey of the GI System” and “Follow Your Heart”. Students had the opportunity to learn about the various functions of the gastrointestinal system, how waste leaves the body, following the pathway of blood circulating in the body, and other cardiovascular functions through fetal pig dissections.

The themes for our spring dissections included “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is” and “The Nerve!” Students were able to learn about the oral cavity and the nervous system by dissecting cow jaws and fetal pigs.
