Mystery Diagnosis & Dissection Day

NEMO AHEC is delighted to implement a brand new medical adventure program with “Mystery Diagnosis & Dissection Day,” offering a unique hands-on learning experience. Participants will work collaboratively, guided by experienced anatomy fellows from A.T. Still University (ATSU), to diagnose and treat a simulated patient presenting with a complex medical case. This immersive program blends diagnostic reasoning with anatomical exploration, allowing participants to delve into real-world medical scenarios. Through careful examination of patient symptoms, medical history, and simulated anatomical findings, teams will formulate diagnoses and propose treatment plans, fostering critical thinking and teamwork skills within a simulated clinical environment.

The diagnostic activity will end with a hands-on dissection. Using what they learned during the diagnostic process, the fellows will guide students through a dissection that relates directly to the disease they diagnosed. This exercise will show students the real-world connection between diagnosing a disease and how it actually affects the body.
